Localization

Have a program you need localized?

Eye Street has been localizing applications for years, specializing in .NET languages, and we can help you do it to. We know all the tricks, and can train your team to avoid the subtle problems.

There is more to delivering multi-lingual .NET applications than translating the RESX files! Source code often needs changing, in-country experts need consulting. Marketing collateral, help files and user guides all need to be translated and kept in sync with the evolving application code. We work with your developers, testers and marketing team so localization is part of your team's culture.

Traditionally, translation happens when the application code is finished and testing is complete. The product team has a month or more to wait after delivery before they can complete the multi-lingual versions. Eye Street can localize your application while it is being built, in parallel with your developers! There is really nothing more satisfying than delivering a multi-lingual application a month or two early, is there?

Translation Director™

Eye Street uses a custom tool to manage the translation process, control which translations are approved and which are in-progress, and report status on the entire localization process.

Important features:

  • Organizes all RESX strings for each language in a single place
    • Find inconsistent or incorrect translations
    • Reuse existing translations on new screens
    • Identify where translations are missing
  • Import and generate Translation Memory files in TMX and other formats
    • Leverage any past translations in your company
    • Use publicly available memories
  • Communicate with your translators
    • Batch up strings and send to translators in a format they can use directly
    • Incorporate returned translations into the RESX files they apply to
  • Gather intelligence
    • What areas of the application need translation?
    • Which translations have not yet been approved by a linguist?
    • How much translation is left and how much will it cost?
